Sign Up For The Philadelphia Love Run



Running a marathon is one of the many activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family. To complete a half marathon, you will need a great deal of determination, mental and physical strength, and preparation. Since the objective of the race is to cross the finish line, you will need one extra ingredient to succeed, motivation, and there is no greater motivator than love. That is why The Philadelphia Love Run is very popular. In its inaugural year, 2014, the race sold out 10,000 tickets. The number of participants is expected to be much higher this year as many Philly residents look forward to participating in the half marathon.

Entry Requirements

Runners must be at least 13 years old to enter The Philadelphia Half Marathon. They must also be in good physical condition and good health to run the course. Runners must be able to complete the race in less than three and a half hours. Every participant must produce a photo ID to get a race number, which is a requirement to participate. All the runners must sign the Love Run waiver form to participate. Other requirements include; no pets, baby joggers, bikes, skateboards or in-line skates on the course.

The Course

As you may already know, The Philadelphia Half Marathon Love Run covers 13.1 miles. However, there are also other distances, including around 3 and 6 miles, for those who may not be able to run the full distance. The race will start and end at the Art Museum located at Eakins Oval. Once the race starts, athletes will run through the country's historical landmarks on roads roads they love, then wind back through the Benjamin Franklin Parkway before entering Fairmount Park. The race will take athletes through picturesque roads that will lead them to the finish line at Eakins Oval. Family and friends, among other types of spectators, can line up along the streets to cheer on the athletes at designated locations, including Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

The Philadelphia Half Marathon is meant for the whole family. It is one of the best ways for the family to enjoy a great time together and accomplish something great in the name of love.
