Does Your Dog Misbehave? Try These Training Tips!

Aggressive behaviors, excessive barking and general disobedience are annoying to a dog owner. These bad habits can be changed. Perhaps they won't be 100% successful, but they can be limited with this article. With a good training program, any dog can be a trouble-free companion.

If you plan on using a crate as part of your puppy's training routine, introduce the apparatus and its' functions very gradually. Once your dog is accustomed to being in the crate, try closing the door and giving your pet a treat through the wire. Gradually increase the amount of time your dog spends in the crate, starting with just a few seconds. If the dog becomes upset, then you need to take a step back and slow down the training.

You need to train the dog to walk the right way using his leash. This will help keep your dog and you safe when going for walks.

The first thing you should teach your dog is to "leave it." This commands the dog to drop whatever is in its mouth. This simple command will get them to stop chewing on household items or furniture, and can keep them away from dirty or potentially dangerous items outside the home.

The first thing you should do when training a puppy is teach him to understand his name. Using his name frequently will teach him to respond when called. You should teach your puppy these words first. Spend ample time with the puppy to create a bond. This will build trust between the puppy and you. This way, you will find future training to be infinitely easier.

Many dog owners know how hard it can be to train their dog. By having the right frame of mind and following the right steps, anyone can train their pet. Some dogs may require a little more time or possibly a different training technique; however, successful dog training requires patience from the owner.
